Twisters follows a new team of storm chasers.

Can Twisters Top the Original? Twisters Has Many Factors Working In Its Favor Close The original Twister achieved cult status over the years, so the 2024 legacy sequel will have big shoes to fill. The first film opened to mediocre reviews but made almost $500 million at the box office. Later on, in the awards season, it earned Oscar nominations for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound. While Twister didn’t win those awards, its VFX has aged well over the years.
