, Powell revealed that he was offered a role in the upcoming Jurassic World movie that’s being directed by Gareth Edwards; however, he ultimately turned the opportunity down.
“Jurassic is one of my favorite movies,” Powell said. “It’s one of the things I’ve wanted to do my whole life. I’m not doing that movie because I read the script and I immediately was like, my presence in this movie doesn’t help it. And the script’s great. The movie’s going to f—ing kill. It’s not about that. It’s about choosing where you’re going to make an audience happy and where you’re going to make yourself happy.
The Hollywood Reporter’s article also mentions Powell passed on a “Bourne Identity update,” though no further details were provided. Powell does, however, have a handful of upcoming projects that are currently in the works. He’s starring in Edgar Wright’s remake of The Running Man, along with an upcoming remake of Heaven Can Wait. He’ll also soon be seen in Richard Linklater’s Hit Man and the new Twisters sequel, while he’s additionally been cast in J.J. Abrams’ new movie, a legal movie called Monsanto, and a revenge thriller titled Huntington.Plot details for the new Jurassic World movie remain under wraps at this time.
