This Morning's Alison fronted today's show with what appeared to be a chunky diamond ring on her engagement finger.

This Morning's Alison Hammond got viewers talking today when she fronted This Morning with what looked like a sparkling diamond on her wedding ring finger.

However, when news of her 'engagement' reached the studio, where she was broadcasting live, the star screamed insisting: "It's just a cheap ring." She said she'd just moved it over to her left hand - which is the one you wear engagement rings on. There was a brief reference to her relationship on today's This Morning when she spoke about how meeting her new neighbours made her feel good not to be "lonely". Co-host Dermot O'Leary replied: "You're hardly lonely."
