M&S is a British institution – a bit like the royals or Paddington Bear. The brand was founded in 1884, starting as a market stall in Leeds – and now it’s one of the biggest retailers in the UK. It’s one of those stores that’s always been on my radar. My Grandma shopped exclusively in Marks and Spencer and we often teased her about her ‘expensive’ habits. My mum would only buy her underwear from there because it washed well – but in my mind it was the kind of shop that mums and nans went to.
But, also, it’s actually quite affordable now. Back when it was my Grandma’s store of choice, it was noticeably pricier than other shops on the high street, but that’s not the case any more. Now, many of its prices are similar to those in Zara, New Look and even Primark. This dress sold out almost immediately, but M&S has recently added this one to its collection. It’s the same price and would also be a perfect ‘throw on’ dress.I absolutely did not need any more jeans, but as soon as I tried on this pair of Palazzo jeans, I fell in love. They’re *so* comfy and they’re lightweight too, which makes them ideal for warmer days.
What’s next on my M&S summer wish list? You might think I’ve probably got enough clothes – and you’d be right. But, M&S has *so* many good summer pieces that I’m sure I’ll be buying more before the season’s over.
