Families across the country celebrated moms over the weekend, but statistics show more women may be waiting longer to become mothers.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for Bexar County and nearly all of the surrounding counties until 4 p.m.This Sept. 4, 2016 photo provided by Ryan Grassley shows Lidia Grassley and her son Samuel at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. Ryan Grassley discovered a perplexing charge on a hospital bill for the recent birth of his son. Nearly $40 for "skin to skin" contact after his wife gave birth via cesarean section.

He said higher paying jobs and higher education requirements are some of the contributors to why women are prolonging motherhood potentially leading to lower birthrates. Fullerton said there is a correlation between this trend and when women are becoming mothers, but that's not the only challenge being seen for people trying to start a family.
