Collingwood coach Craig McRae has taken a subtle swipe at Nick Daicos’ critics after the superstar helped the Magpies to a 66-point thrashing of West Coast. Daicos continued his blistering form with 36 disposals, seven clearances, seven tackles and a goal, but it was his tally of 17 contested possessions that had McRae chirping post-match. The 21-year-old continues to set the competition alight despite still only having 56 games to his name.

McRae said Mitchell and De Goey are a chance to return for Saturday’s match against Adelaide, while Schultz will also come back in after serving his one-match suspension. But McReery will miss again and Elliott may also need more time to recover from his back issue. “Jordy and Tom will be a race to the line. We are going to get an update on Jamie, but there is some stuff that is grumbling so might be more than one week,” McRae said.
