Jermaine Pennant has been offered the chance to fight in a celebrity boxing match - but there is one man he would never step into the ring with

Champions League finalist Jermaine Pennant said he would consider a move into celebrity boxing - unless it's against Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney.

Celebrity boxing is currently trending, especially with promotions like Misfits constantly making new headlines. Pennant stated he would consider participating, as long as he doesn't have to fight Rooney, who revealed that he was approached by celebrity boxing promoters shortly after his dismissal from Birmingham City.

He added: "I've rejected one in the past and it depends who I'm fighting. If I'm fighting an absolute lunatic then absolutely not! No, I don't think I'd fight Wayne Rooney, he likes his boxing and I'd want to fight someone on my level who has never done it before. He'd have that advantage.

The sheer force of the blow sent the footballer sprawling to his living room floor, where he lied motionless in front of worried friends and family. Reminiscing about that viral clip, Rooney marked his goal in a 3-0 victory over Spurs in 2015 by darting over to the corner flag, shadow boxing and then falling onto his back as if knocked out.The celebration is often cited as one of the most memorable in recent Premier League history.
