The spy thriller series Lioness, also known as Special Ops: Lioness, has been renewed for a second season, reported Deadline on Thursday.
Jeff Grossman, who serves as the Executive Vice President of Programming for Paramount+, issued a statement to voice his enthusiasm for the continuation of the series. Chris McCarthy, who serves as the head of Paramount Global and as the President & CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, also shared a statement to speak about Lioness' success with viewers.
Lioness is centered on a Marine who becomes recruited into the CIA's program of the same name and is tasked with befriending the daughter of a suspected terrorist.The entertainment industry powerhouse also wrote the scripts for the program's entire first season. The news about the Taylor Sheridan-created series was revealed on Thursday, when it was also announced that several series regulars, including Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman and Laysla De Oliveira, were set to return to the program
Lioness made its debut on Paramount+ in July of last year, and the show's first season ran for a total of eight episodes
