Malin Akerman, 45, is a Swedish-American actress and has been chosen as one of the hosts of this year's Eurovision Song Contest. The mum-of-one has starred in a number of Hollywood films, including 27 Dresses.
Inside Malin Akerman's childhood Malin was born in Stockholm to part-time model Pia and insurance broker dad Magnus. The family relocated to Canada when she was just two years old when Magnus accepted a job there. But after four years, her parents divorced with her father returning to Sweden. Malin spent much of her childhood figure skating before she began modelling. she was discovered by Ford Models at the age of 16. When she went to university to study child psychology, she took on acting roles to pay for her tuition. In 2001, she moved to LA to pursue acting full time.
However, her breakout role was undoubtedly in 2009 as Silk Spectre II in Watchmen. Malin has previously shared she felt "way out of her league" on set for the film.
