The cast and crew of the hit BBC show arrived at FACT cinema last night for a special screening to celebrate the arrival of season two. The event was also held in honour of Bernard Hill after the legendary actor died aged 79 ahead of the series premiere.
He said: "Our scenes together were a joy to do. I think they've come out really well and are really moving. Mr Hill's breakout role came as Yosser Hughes in Alan Bleasdale's 'Boys from the Blackstuff', which captured the struggles facing Liverpool in the 1980s. The Responder creator, Tony, is heavily inspired by the seminal TV drama and said working with the acclaimed actor, also renowned for his role in The Lord of the Rings and Titanic, was an honour.
