This year’s exhibit, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” invited visitors to reconsider how we can engage with clothing too old to wear again. Meanwhile, the dress code, “The Garden of Time,” referred to the short story by J.G. Ballard. The story’s protagonist, Count Axel, slows an angry mob nearing his castle by cutting flowers from his garden until none remain.
