The X Factor

Rylan Clark is heading to Italy with Rob Rinder for a new BBC Two show - however, he's revealed that he had to walk away from filming after being reminded of his X Factor days

While presenter Rylan Clark and TV lawyer Rob Rinder may seem like the ultimate odd couple, the pair reveal they bonded over their similarities while filming their new BBC Two show – including the fact they share a divorce lawyer.

Rylan continues, “I genuinely don’t get connections with people that often in life. I could call Rob at three in the morning and say one word – I know he’d be in fits of laughter. I could also call Rob and say, ‘I need help,’ and he’d be there straight away and vice versa.” And it seems that he succeeded. “At the end of the Florence episode, I’m getting off with a French rugby player and Rob is dancing on the bar!” Rylan laughs. “That night was never supposed to happen. We went to the one gay bar in Venice and Rob at first said, ‘I just don’t know how to talk to people.’

The series isn’t without its emotional moments, with the pair opening up about their past loves on the journey. Rylan continues, “I don’t know what happened. There was something about a camera being in my face and it took me back to, ‘This is your song for this week, five hours before a live X Factor show on a Saturday night, and we’re changing everything.’ Being thrown to the lions.
