Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT A diverse array of songs plays throughout the 2005 action-comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith, some of which are easy to miss while others can be hard to identify. Directed by Doug Liman, Mr. & Mrs. Smith stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as John and Jane Smith, a married suburban couple who are secretly both highly-skilled assassins working for different contract-killing firms.

"Mondo Bongo" by Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros: The first time "Mondo Bongo" plays in Mr. & Mrs. Smith is when John and Jane toast their shot glasses to "dodging bullets" in Bogotá before downing their shots and dancing. The instrumental of this song plays again while John and Jane are passionately making out after physically fighting in their house. "Mondo Bongo" plays a third time toward the end of Mr. & Mrs.

"Baby, Baby" by Alana D: Right as the door opens to show John and Jane arriving at their neighbors' house for a party, "Baby, Baby" by Alana D immediately starts playing. The song plays for the remainder of the sequence, which includes Jane being forced to hold someone else's baby and looking uncomfortable.

"Assassin's Tango" by John Powell: This ballroom dance number plays at the restaurant as Jane sits at the table alone, sipping wine while shedding a tear because she thinks she killed John in the elevator explosion. When John shows up, much to her surprise, he sits down to talk before they take to the dancefloor to tango.

"Making Love Out of Nothing at All" by Air Supply: A wide shot of cars driving on a bridge is shown as "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" starts playing. John drives their neighbors' stolen minivan as he and Jane continue confessing to all the lies they told each other. John starts singing the song as he drives before he notices a row of cars on their tail.

Conversely, a number of songs on the Mr. & Mrs. Smith official soundtrack are not featured in the movie at all but were included because they fit the film's themes of lovers at odds and love conquering all. These include:
