Sabrina Carpenter channeled her inner princess for the 2024 Met Gala. The singer walked the carpeted steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in a strapless ensemble by Oscar de la Renta. Simple yet stunning, the custom piece featured a velvet, figure-hugging body and billowing blue and white satin skirt. The latter was designed with an ombré effect, taking inspiration from orchid flowers. With a long, airy train, the dress was a perfect match for the pop royalty.

While she was absent last year, the star graced the museum steps in 2022, wearing a glimmering gold two-piece set from Paco Rabanne to channel the “Gilded Glamour” theme. This year’s dress code, “The Garden of Time,” is inspired by J.G. Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name. The theme examines the intrinsic connection between time and natural beauty—leaving attendees to interpret this as they please.
