That They May Face the Rising Sun is an exercise in memory and a reminder to cherish the natural world
I do remember Seamus Heaney being there. I was too nervous to approach him, and why would I anyway, apart from to steal the fragments of an interaction for myself? The only time I ever spoke to Heaney in person was as a 12-year-old, when I ran up to him in a shopping centre in Dublin, recognising his face from a photograph, which must have been in my primary school poetry book, or maybe somewhere else.
