Barnes’ first solo venture, a 36-cover restaurant in the NOMA district will open on May 29 with bookings now open - but expected to fly fast. Menus will feature seasonal local ingredients including those sourced from Simon Rogan’s regenerative farm, as well as Cinderwood Garden and Lake District Farmers.
Diners can expect pickled Shetland mussels za'atar crème fraiche lemon; whipped butter bean with charred onion chutney and sumac, and ex-dairy tartare with horseradish, pomegranate, molasses and onion rings, all accompanied by a flatbread, while larger plates span lamb shanks and grilled octopus nduja, amongst other delights.New for Freight Island, and landing just in time for the bank holiday weekend is tequila bar Casa Pomelo.
