Aliff Satar and his band, The Locos recently held a show in the UK, and many social media users jumped to the conclusion and said that Aliff and the men performed in a church. The assumption came after the viral images showed the surroundings of the venue, which, at the 1st glance may have looked like a church to others. In an Instagram post by @zaidan_zainuddin, the place where the show took place was actually a community center and an event space that was meant to be rented.
Zaidan, who was initially shocked by the location did not jump to the conclusion immediately. He found out that it was an event space and there were no crosses in it.Zaidan also said that he used to study Islamic architecture back then, and learnt that a mosque is not just a place to perform prayers but for the people to gather around for some activities together.
“Why do some of us are so narrow minded and assume that the non-Muslims can’t enter the mosque, and the Muslims can’t enter the church?”It’s always wise to ask around if we’re unsure about anything, at all, to avoid jumping to conclusions and building a negative perspective toward someone, or something.
