Nick Daicos has won an epic game for Collingwood against Carlton with a last-minute goal from the near boundary line. The young AFL superstar came charging through a forward 50 stoppage and snapped a freakish goal to break the 79-apiece deadlock that threatened to see the game end in a draw.

Nick Daicos wins the game for Collingwood. The Pies would have become just the third club in AFL/VFL history to play out two draws in consecutive games after they could not be split from Essendon in last week’s Anzac Day thriller. But the reigning premiers pulled off the great escape when Daicos came up with some football magic. “It’s good but credit to Carlton. These games just always seem to go right down to the wire,” a humble Daicos said after the game.
