Debut album from Dublin-based band is wry look at constant quest for stimulus

There's something of Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit in the new single by Dublin-based band Lemoncello - it's dark and brooding, folky and rooted in the mystical while being wholly of its time.

Old Friend revisits this theme, the sense of moving on from relationships, physically and emotionally, or is it an effort to rebuild them and start again? "Old friend, let's pretend that we're strangers again..." They explained: "Recording the album on tape felt like the right way to capture the energy between us as a band. You don't record to tape to make a really clean product and that's not what this album is it's an unfiltered document of a place and time. It was such a joy working with Julie.

The indie rockers have been on the go for more than a decade but it's only the in the last few years they have really reached their full potential breaking the top five with the awesome album Sad Happy and the quartet, led by singer and guitarist Kieran Shudall, continued in that form with last year's Never Going Under.
