Superhero season, which began this year in March with Disney's"Captain Marvel" and concludes in July with the studio's"Spider-Man: Far From Home," welcomed its first DC Comics entry this weekend as Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema's"Shazam!" opened in first place at the box office.
The $21-million movie earned mixed reviews from audiences and critics with a C-plus CinemaScore rating and a 61%"fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Rounding out the top five,"Captain Marvel" added $12.7 million in its fifth weekend for a cumulative $374.1 million and has surpassed $1 billion in global grosses.opened in sixth place with an underwhelming $4.5 million.
Still not enough super hero movies. There should be at least one Avenger in every single movie. This new Elton John biopic better at least have a few scenes with ant man.
You really don't need to be into superhero movies to fall absolutely, madly in love with 'Shazam!' Such a great film, a treat for all ages.
Enough with super heros. Get a writer with a new idea.
