Sydneysiders are facing a weekend washout, with a month’s worth of rain forecast to drench the city from Friday to Sunday. A deluge of more than 100mm is expected in Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and further afield along both the south and north NSW coasts — affections millions of people. Brisbane and Perth are also set for rain. On Thursday, the Bureau of Meteorology’s Angus Hines warned Sunrise viewers about the dreary conditions.

Light winds becoming south to southeasterly 15km/h to 20km/h during the day, then becoming light during the evening. Brisbane Saturday: Minimum 16C, maximum 24C, 80 per cent chance of rain. BOM says: Partly cloudy. High chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and evening. Light winds becoming east to southeasterly 15km/h to 20km/h during the day. Sunday: Minimum 15C, maximum 25C, 60 per cent chance of rain. BOM says: Partly cloudy.
