Medical examiners identified the victim as 44-year-old Amy Garza, a Lubbock radio show host known as 'Amy-O' on 104.9 The Beat.

SAN ANTONIO — A motorcyclist has been charged in connection with the death of the bike's passenger, identifed as a Lubbock radio show host. near General McMullen. Garza was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by 48-year-old Steve Nerio. Police said Monday Nerio is now facing charges of intoxication manslaughter in her death.

Initially, police said Nerio told them the bike had been side-swiped by a red truck. But, according to an arrest affidavit, Nerio entered Highway 90 from South General McMullen illegally, causing the accident with the red truck. The affidavit also says Nerio had a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit and a drug screen at the hospital showed the presence of cocaine and fentanyl.
