Look Ahead: Local events and things to do this week, April 28-May 4

April Fossen stars in Pygmalion Productions' staging of Jane Anderson's play "Mother of the Maid," about Joan of Arc and her mom. The production is scheduled to run May 3-18, 2024, at the Leona Wagner Black Box Theatre at the Rose Wagner Center for the Performing Arts in Salt Lake City.

Saturday is International Star Wars Day — because it’s May the 4th — and the Megaplex Theatres are celebrating with a marathon of all nine of the “Skywalker Saga” films at the Megaplex Jordan Commons, 9335 S. State St., Sandy. The festivities start with check-in at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. The first movie, “The Phantom Menace” , starts just after 10 p.m. Luke will destroy the Death Star around 7:30 a.m. Saturday. And the ninth movie, “The Rise of Skywalker,” should be over around 8:40 p.m.
