EXCLUSIVE: Former Hear'Say singer and Emmerdale star Suzanne Shaw opened up about her ADHD diagnosis and said her hormonal changes 'have sent it to another level'

Following a diagnosis of ADHD earlier this year, former Hear'Say singer and soap star Suzanne Shaw believes her symptoms have been heightened by the hormonal changes that come with perimenopause. The 2008 Dancing On Ice champion spoke exclusively to OK! about how her "hormonal changes" have sent her ADHD to "another level".

The talented actress and singer shared: "My thoughts have raced at 100 miles per hour since I can remember, but hormonal changes are sending that to another level. "Research suggests adults with ADHD are nearly three times more likely to experience depression, and that’s something I’ve dealt with for much of my life. I took tablets on and off for 19 years and when my depression was crippling, they’d help me get from A to B."

Despite discovering her ADHD diagnosis earlier this year, Suzanne first became aware of the condition four years ago, when she overhauled her lifestyle in a bid to improve her mental well-being. She quit drinking, swapped takeaways for vegan meals, took up running and meditation, started her lifestyle platform, Happy Health Club, and came off her antidepressants."But the changes helped my anxiety and depression, I began to think there was something else affecting my emotional wellbeing.
