Buckingham Palace has confirmed King Charles will return to public-facing duties from next week. The 75-year-old monarch has remained largely out of the limelight, postponing all public engagements since he began treatment for an unspecified form of cancer in February. The illness was found in tests after he had a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate in January.
Forthcoming engagements will remain subject to doctors’ advice and will be adapted where necessary, to minimise any risks. Friday’s statement was released alongside a new image of The King and Queen - taken on April 10 in the Buckingham Palace garden - to mark the first anniversary of the Coronation.
