Two people are in custody and ten people have been taken to hospital after an “unknown substance” was allegedly sprayed at customers and staff at a Bunnings store in a WA Wheatbelt town. The store on Peel Terrace in Northam was evacuated by staff following the incident about 2.30pm on Anzac Day. “In an isolated incident, two people entered the store ... and one of them sprayed an unknown substance in the vicinity of several customers and staff,” WA Police said.

” Police arrested two people, one of whom is alleged to have sprayed the unknown substance at customers and staff. A St John spokeswoman told The West Australian that ten people were taken to Northam Regional Hospital with non-life threatening following the incident. 7NEWS.com.au has contacted St John for comment. In a statement to 7NEWS.com.au, a Bunnings spokesperson confirmed the incident occurred at the store before a small number of staff and customers were taken to hospital.
