Billie Eilish is getting real about coming out on the world stage.The Grammy winner—poised to release her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, on May 17—teased one of her new songs, “Lunch,” at Coachella. With lyrics like “I could eat that girl for lunch / And she dances on my tongue / Tastes like she might be the one,” the bouncy, uptempo track puts Eilish’s sexuality front and center.
”Eilish contemplated the consequences of coming out as one of the world’s biggest pop stars, lamenting the lack of control she’d have of her own narrative. “I was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever, in a million years,” she said. “It’s really frustrating to me that it came up.”The “What Was I Made For?” singer previously opened up about liking women in an interview with Variety last November. “I love them so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people.
