A man has been arrested after a Melbourne couple were allegedly held at knifepoint and tied up during a terrifying home invasion last year. Four men wearing all black allegedly forced their way into the home on Beckett Rd, Donvale about 9pm on June 23, 2023. Once inside, the men confronted a 65-year-old woman and 67-year-old man. The couple were allegedly assaulted and held at knifepoint, with one of the victims tied up with their hands behind their back.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday. Police believe the victims were targeted mistakenly. “The offenders made it clear they were there to access a safe that they believed to be inside the premises,” Detective Senior Sergeant Justin Mercovich said. “The victims made it clear that there was no safe inside and we believe the offenders have either targeted the wrong address or had false information.
