JOHANNESBURG - US billionaire and investor Mark Cuban and actor Ashton Kutcher have invested in local shoe companySouth African businessman Steve Watts, who previously received funding from Kutcher and Cuban, introduced the investors to the shoe brand which has become extremely popular abroad."I grew up wearing vellies every day, so it is truly an honour to bring a part of my culture and heritage to the United States," said Watts.
Cuban, Kutcher, Watts and Watts' wife Angela now have a 50 percent stake in Veldskoen while 49 percent is owned by Long4Life businessman Brian Joffe. The brand -- which is made in Durban by DORP -- will now have access to Cuban's distribution centre based in Houston, Texas.Alex residents say Herman Mashaba must deliver better services.
