Court filings show Omar Zegar was armed with a rifle and fired more than 20 times in the direction of several people outside a home in the 5500 block of Babette Court in Oak Forest.

An Orland Park man was ordered detained Wednesday after being charged in connection with a shooting Sunday in Oak Forest that left one man dead and others wounded, according to authorities.

He was later stopped by police and taken into custody, and a 19-year-old woman in the vehicle he was in, in which police found a rifle, had suffered a gunshot wound, according to police and court filings., 39-year-old Mohannad Othman, of the 15700 block of Peggy Lane, who died just before 9 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Court filings show Zegar, of the 8900 block of Clearview Drive, had a pending domestic battery case involving the wife of his three children.
