Tucked away in East Sussex, a tranquil pebble beach has been hailed as one of the UK's "best hidden beaches", despite its starring role in numerous films due to its breathtaking views. The beach, which features in Sykes Holiday Cottages' top 10 list of the UK's best hidden beaches, is described as a secret spot where visitors can immerse themselves in the area's rich history.
This stunning backdrop has led to the beach being used as a filming location for several movies, including Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Kevin Costner's Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Cuckmere Haven Beach is steeped in history, having once been a hub for smugglers in the 17th and 18th centuries, reports the Express. In the 19th century, it played a crucial role in the fight against smuggling and served as an important base for protecting Britain during the World Wars.
Located just a short drive from Seaford, Cuckmere Haven Beach is easily accessible with the nearest car park situated at South Hill Barn. As of now, parking here is free for up to two hours.
