Weapons is an multi-story horror epic surrounding the tale of a series of disappearances of high school students in a small town. The horror film is from emergent director Zach Cregger, who is known for his previous work on Barbarian.

As per Collider, Weapons has now cast Garner in one of the lead roles. The nature of Garner’s part has yet to be revealed, as much of the specifics of Weapons’ plot are still under wraps. Will Weapons Be As Successful As Barbarian? While the nature of her character remains unknown, the Ozark actress is a great choice for the horror film. Winning an Emmy for Ozark, Garner has already shown her star power as her career develops. She has also had a number of film roles, including in The Assistant, Martha Marcy May Marlene, and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Garner joins a cast that also includes Josh Brolin making his horror return.

Weapons has big shoes to fill as it follows up Barbarian. Released in 2022, Barbarian tells a horror story of a woman whose stay at an Airbnb goes wrong when she discovers that the house she rented is not what it initially seemed to be. Upon its release, Barbarian received nearly universal acclaim. It got a 93% Tomatometer among critics and a lower 71% audience approval rating. The film also made $45.3 million at the worldwide box office, representing massive returns on its estimated $4.
