Ben Shephard, the host of This Morning, abruptly halted the ITV show on Wednesday due to 'distressing' breaking news. The presenter was visibly shocked by the 'alarming' images of escaped horses running through London's streets, with an injured soldier lying on the ground.

The group was in the midst of a conversation about a repugnant police WhatsApp message sent following the murders of students Barnaby Webber and Grace O'Malley-Kumar in Nottingham last year when Ben received word of breaking news. The Tipping Point star went on to explain that photos had also surfaced of a soldier lying injured on the street, adding "some of the horses have been very spooked. It's really shocking.", reports Chronicle Live.
