The performance of The Last Post is one of the more emotional moments ahead of AFL games during the Anzac Day round, but a radio host has slammed the ritual. Brisbane’s Triple M breakfast radio star Greg ‘Marto’ Martin says it has all become too much and believes fans suffer “bugle fatigue” after all the games have been played. “Football has now turned into a gimmick,” Martin said on Marto, Margaux & Dan show.

” “So what’s going to happen this week in all games of the AFL and all eight games of the rugby league … every single one of them will play and you’ll get Anzac you’ll get bugle fatigue. “We have to stop it somewhere.” Martin’s co-host Margaux Parker added: “It gets saturated, so it loses it’s value.” “They all think they are doing the right thing, but all they are doing is turning it into a mockery.” But the radio star hosts were largely condemned for their views.
