Chery is expanding its Omoda sub-brand, with a new model set to be revealed at this week’s Beijing motor show. The Chery Omoda 7 will slot in above the existing Omoda 5, and the Chinese carmaker has released a single teaser image ahead of a reveal on April 28. The image shows the side profile of the car, which features unusual lighting elements up front and ‘lightning’ tail light graphics.
In some markets, Chery will sell the RX from its more premium Exeed brand as the Omoda 9. The Exeed RX/Omoda 9 measures 4781mm long, 1920mm wide and 1671mm tall on a 2815mm wheelbase, or 34mm shorter, 20mm wider and 24mm lower than a Kia Sorento on an identical wheelbase. That points to the Omoda 7 being close to the mid-sized Toyota RAV4, or Chery’s own Tiggo 7 Pro.
