Music recording legend Lionel Richie was back home in Tuskegee to help cut the ribbon on the new Hello Park. Richie, Tuskegee University President Dr. Charlotte Morris, other dignitaries and officials from Lowe’s welcomed people to the park for the first time Thursday afternoon.The park was completed as a part of Lowe’s Hometowns, the company’s community impact program. Lowe’s leaders, as well as leaders from the Central Alabama Community Foundation and Points of Light were on hand for the ceremony.
Richie says that Hello Park is the perfect destination for people to come and realize they can start from a very small town and end up affecting the whole world. “This is a place where legacies have been made, and history has been made,” Richie said. “Take this time to sit and understand that Booker T. Washington went through those gates and the world will now come to see what the heck Hello Park is all about that I’ve been talking about for the last year.”Missing Montgomery children found safe in Dallas Co.
