“He’s a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment,” the film’s synopsis reads. And now, fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job.
The Fall Guy is loosely based on the 1980s television series of the same name. The movie is directed by, a former stuntman who was an uncredited director on 2014’s John Wick. Leitch also previously made 2017’s Atomic Blonde, 2018’s Deadpool 2, 2019’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, and 2022’s Bullet Train.
The script for The Fall Guy was written by Drew Pearce known for working on 2013’s Iron Man 3, 2015’s Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, 2018’s Hotel Artemis, and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Along with Gosling, Blunt, and Waddingham, the film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Winston Duke, and Stephanie Hsu.
Leitch and Gosling produce The Fall Guy alongside Kelly McCormick and Guymon Casady, while Pearce, Geoff Shaevitz, and Glen A.
