Crazy Rich Asians - which starred Constance Wu, Henry Golding and Michelle Yeoh - is heading to Broadway with the film's director Jon M Chu set to helm the musical production.
On Wednesday, it was announced the comedy based on the trilogy of books by Kevin Kwan and the popular 2018 movie of the same name would be heading to the Great White Way 'When you find those two, you know it's destiny,' Chu, 44, said Thursday of Grande, 30, and Erivo, 37, who portray Glinda and Elphaba in the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
'We've gone through so many journeys together,' the filmmaker said at annual gathering of the National Association of Theatre Owners. Shmigadoon writer Leah Nanako Winkler will adapt the story for Broadway while KPOP composer Helen Park will write the music Chu said at the luncheon that he, Grande and Erivo have integrated 'personal things' with emotional value into their contributions to Wicked.
