A Tesla Model S is seen in a video screenshot as it traveled on the road with no one in the driver's seat.Video showing a Tesla Model S driving at speed on a road with no one in the driver's seat circulated on social media Tuesday night.
At one point in the video, the camera pans toward the windshield to show the car is traveling at speed down a two-lane road. The digital instrument cluster can be seen with"115" displayed, but it was not immediately clear whether that number represented miles-per-hour, or kilometers-per-hour.A beverage holder containing a bottled drink is attached to the car's steering wheel.
Videos showing Tesla drivers asleep or otherwise preoccupied behind the steering wheel are fairly common, even as the carmaker implores its customers to remain in control of their vehicles while operating them on Autopilot.
As the camera turns, the seat is moving back up from reclined position. Person jumped in the back for the vid, surely jumped back in front when done. Still foolish.
It’s a stunt. It was done in Asia. He waited until he got to stretch of road w/o cars & he went back there. Someone was in the passenger seat & quickly moved to driver seat after filming. People have done stupid stunts w/ cars for years. Jump trains etc. This is a 2019 version.
