Paddy McGuinness appears as the first guest on the Late Late Show, discussing his career, Irish roots, and upcoming tour. He reminisces about his first TV appearance with host Patrick Kielty and expresses gratitude for the positive experience.

Paddy McGuinness was the first guest to appear on tonight's Late Late Show, telling host Patrick Kielty it was his first ever Irish TV appearance.

Speaking about the beginning of his career, Paddy remembered a TV show he appeared on where Patrick Kielty was the host. He said: "You were the first person I did any TV with so back in, like, sort of late nineties when I used to work in a leisure centre and I applied to go on a show that Patrick was the host of.

Paddy said: "When we did Phoenix Nights, we were all very young, and none of us really took it that serious. We basically pretty much got drunk every day and just had a laugh, you know? It was a great experience. He said: "On my mum's side, my grandparents on my mum's side, the records from Ireland were totally lost so we couldn't find a thing about that. So it was great to discover my dad's side especially after he mentioned Tipperary. I was like, where's he even got that from? But that's all to come."
