A guide to the movies to watch in theaters and at home from April 8 to 15, 2024, including the highly anticipated film 'Civil War' and the debut of 'Fallout' on Prime.

Fri, April 12th 2024 at 3:01 PMCivil War, the new film from Alex Garland and A24 Here are a few options for your weekend. Including the long-awaited debut of “Fallout” on Prime. As someone who spent a ridiculous amount of time building a home-based to look like the Pink Flamingo Club mentioned in Soft Cell’s song “Wave Hello, Say Goodbye,” I can’t tell you how excited I am get sit down with this over the weekend.

Having watched Alex Garland’s “Civil War” in IMAX I can tell you that I hope to be seeing it again. It’s not the film that most of us expected. Garland rarely gives in to that temptation. With the expectation of a few moments in the end, isn’t one of those times. It’s a simple narrative with an incredible backstory boosted by the phenomenal cast. If you want a non-stop action film adventure laced with politics you’re looking for “Monkey Man.” If you’d prefer a film that mixes bombastic, occasionally brutal and sometimes gruesome violence in what I consider an anti-war film. It will stick with me and when you’re drowning is movie screenings its rare to find anything that new and exciting.

I’ve been told that I will enjoy the throwback horror of “Sting.” Seeing that “Blackout” by the legendary Larry Fessenden, I’ll add it to my queue. The premise and presence of Lucy Boynton have me curious about “The Greatest Hits.”An adrenaline-fueled thrill ride through a near-future fractured America balanced on the razor's edge.Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have.
