Even before the proper presscon began, Filipino fans of the South Korean boy band BtoB (Born to Beat), called Filo Melodies, couldn’t contain their excitement to see their K-pop idols during the event.

The Philippines becomes the first stop of BtoB’s ‘Our Dream’ Asia tour, presented by Ovation Productions in partnership with A Planet and Fan Girl Asia. The fan-con was held on April 7 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The press event was held hours before their recent fan-con dubbed “2024 BTOB Fan-Con Our Dream” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on April 7. BtoB performed at “Dream Kpop Fantasy Concert” in 2014 and “Best of Best” show, along with Red Velvet, Girls Generation, and Super Junior, in 2015. Eunkwang quipped, “Can we come every day?” It elicited laughter from the audience who said yes to his query.

What has kept the group stay motivated throughout the years of their music career is their supporters. In the words of Eunkwang, “These are not just words but I really say this deep from my heart, it is all because of you, guys, the Melodies. We are here and we talked about this for us to be able to come as a group. You are our strength. Sobrang mahal ko kayo.”

The infectious energy continued at the fan-con where the boys entertained the spectators with their emotional ballads and lively performances with pyrotechnics on display.

Manila to Host 50th Edition of Metro Manila Film FestivalThe Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) executive committee (EXECOM) are set to celebrate the 50th edition of the festival in December. Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan expressed her gratitude to the agency and the EXECOM for choosing the city to host this year’s film festival. She said the city government is fully supportive and excited about hosting the 50th edition of MMFF. This year, the selection committee will choose eight official entries under four script entries and four official finished entries. However, the committee may allow the addition of more film entries if there are more quality films submitted. Aside from the official film entries, the MMFF will also hold a Student Short Film Caravan to give students an opportunity to showcase their talents in filmmaking.
