On Thursday, the Biden Administration announced they are closing what's commonly referred to as the 'gun show loophole.'

A handgun frame that has been printed on a 3D printer is held for a photograph at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives , National Services Center, Thursday, March 2, 2023, in Martinsburg, W.Va. According to the Department of Justice, around 20,000 unlicensed firearms dealers sell firearms either online or at gun shows across the United States. That's the loophole: Selling firearms without a license, for profit.

To close the loophole, the administration is tightening up the definition of what it means to be engaged in the business of selling firearms. "A lot of guns are being bought, purchased online, and therefore if you happen to be regularly gaining profits whether or not you have a brick and mortar shop or not you have to have a license," Iwama said.
