Mrs Brown's Boys star was 'sad' when Brendan Courtney didn't land RTE radio gig

Mrs Brown’s Boys star Eilish O’Carroll has said she was “really sad” when Brendan Courtney didn’t get Ryan Tubridy’s former RTE Radio 1 slot.

Oliver Callan was ultimately asked to take over the hour-long show, but Eilish said she was “sad” for Brendan. She said: “I was really sad that he didn’t get the radio programme because I thought he was so easy to listen to, he engaged with an audience, even on the radio and that’s quite a skill. And 71-year-old Eilish said she would love her own radio show some day – saying there aren't enough older women working in high-profile radio stations.
