Brisbane defender Noah Answerth has been spotted taunting Melbourne rival Harrison Petty during Thursday night’s clash at the MCG. With the Lions on their way to a comfortable victory in the last quarter, Answerth opened up old wounds after Petty missed a shot at goal.

Answerth taunts Pety. Answerth could be seen taking both his hands to eyes and pretending to wipe away tears. It was a reference to an incident two years ago when Petty was reduced to tears after a personal sledge from then Brisbane captain Dayne Zorko. That incident resulted in an ugly fallout with both sides continuing to trade barbs in the aftermath. Zorko did apologise for the sledge, but said he wasn’t “unprovoked” during a hostile match.
