There is strong Irish interest at this year's Cannes Film Festival with new films from the Dublin-based Element Pictures and Tailored Films, actor Barry Keoghan, and director Lorcan Finnegan among the line-up.
In the Un Certain Regard section of the festival, the Element Pictures-produced September Says, directed by Ariane Labed, will be part of the programme. Actor-turned-director Labed's debut feature was filmed in Ireland. Bird, the new film from writer-director Andrea Arnold, includes Barry Keoghan among its cast and Arnold's longtime collaborator Robbie Ryan as cinematographer. It will also receive its world premiere and screen in competition at Cannes.
