A Queensland police employee has been suspended after they were allegedly paid to provide details on a domestic violence victim by their alleged offender. A 46-year-old female employee allegedly accessed a police database and released personal information of a domestic violence victim, which their alleged offender then used to stalk them, Queensland Police said. The woman was also allegedly paid to hand over the information, which was accessed between 2021 and 2023.
Police said the employee had been suspended from the Queensland Police Force and was not currently in the workplace. They are expected to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday charged with one count of unlawful stalking , two charges of Computer Hacking and two charges of Computer Hacking of the Criminal Code.
