The late night host performed The Star Spangled Banner with country singer Maren Morris.

Detailing one of her earliest singing gigs performing the National Anthem at amateur wrestling competitions in Texas, Morris shared she'd perform The Star Spangled Banner acapella. "Sure," she replied.

The two stars then broke into an acapella duet with Morris singing the melody and Colbert destroying the harmony. Colbert grinned, telling Morris,"I want to sing that with you at an amateur wrestling competition… It's always good to have a fallback, this job could go away tomorrow.", who hinted that music would take a bit of the backseat in 2024, as she worked through personal things and found a way to channel her latest chapter.
