The Times obtained a draft version of a letter endorsed by ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Fox News, which reads, “We, the undersigned national news organizations, urge the presumptive presidential nominees to publicly commit to participating in general election debates before November’s election.”According to the Times, the letter has yet to be finalized and the networks are hoping to get other major news organizations to sign on.

Trump has made it clear he’s eager to go one-on-one with his opponent. Last week, he taunted Biden by appearing onstage with an empty lectern while declaring he wasMaking a case for both sides to be heard, the draft letter went on to read, “If there is one thing Americans can agree on, during this polarized time, it is that the stakes of this election are exceptionally high.”
