Temu has hit back at claims it misuses data collected by shoppers. The retail site, which launched 12 months ago, has become popular for ultra-cheap household products. Owned by PDD Holdings, it was started in Shanghai but recently moved its headquarters to Ireland. On Monday, a cybersecurity expert raised the alarm about the company’s app, calling out the risk of how much data is being collected by the Chinese-owned company.
